Flashcam880SOLAR POWERED

The FlashCAM-880WF+ is solar powered. A 1/8 inch thick Lexan cover protects the solar cells from rocks and debris. An internal battery is being continuually charged when the solar panel, mounted on top of the case, is exposed either directly or indirectly to the sun. Two hours of direct sun exposure a day will support about 40 flash photos per night and allow indefinite operation without the need to charge the internal battery by other means.

The Internal battery is a sealed, lead-acid type that has a seven ampere hours capacity. It can support up to 1,500 pictures without any sun exposure.

If and when the system reports low battery in extreme bad weather situations, you can recharge the battery. If the FlashCAM is installed close to an AC outlet, you can plug the wall adapter charger (included with your system) directly into the rear of the case. If this is not an option, remove the battery pack, (which is attached to the FlashCAM chassis by 4 Phillips-head screws), for recharging. This takes about 8 hours. A good idea is to buy an extra battery pack to switch the depleted battery for continual use of the FlashCAM.
